Heather Pfefferle, DDS

Heather Pfefferle, DDS

Doctor of Dental Surgery

Dr. Heather Rhoads Pfefferle is a Leelanau County native and graduate of Traverse City West High School, class of 1999. Dr. Pfefferle attended Hillsdale College where she graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Music Performance (violin). Following her undergraduate studies, she earned her Doctorate of Dental Sciences from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 2008. Dr. Pfefferle lived and practiced dentistry in Central Ohio for over two years after receiving her DDS until deciding to move back to Traverse City, MI in 2010 to practice at Cherry Bay Dental.

Since returning to Traverse City, Dr. Pfefferle has been providing the community with outstanding, personalized, and friendly dental care. She and her dental team give every patient the attention and focus they deserve in a comfortable and quaint setting. Dr. Pfefferle’s patients are always impressed with her ability to make each person feel like they are important and that their needs are her first priority. Dr. Pfefferle continues her education frequently in order to continue to offer her patients the best treatment possible. She often visits the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL, for much of her continuing education, and is involved in a number of local and state study clubs associated with the Institute. The Pankey Institute attracts many dentists committed to excellence in their practice, with a particular emphasis in comprehensive dental care and occlusal health. Dr. Pfefferle pays particular attention to how the upper and lower teeth fit together, and enjoys finding solutions for her patients who are experiencing muscle pain and headaches.

Dr. Pfefferle married Ryan Pfefferle in September 2009, shortly after his discharge from the Army. Ryan is a graduate of Defiance College (Defiance, OH), has earned a Masters of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management and is currently pursuing a degree in commercial horticulture from Michigan State University. When not creating beautiful smiles for her patients, Dr. Pfefferle enjoys gardening, running, hiking, camping, fishing, cooking, and anything that has to do with being outdoors. On Sundays, you can hear Dr. Pfefferle show off her musical talent when she plays the violin at her local church.

Ashley Bell

Ashley Bell

Registered Dental Hygienist

Ashley Bell first joined our practice as a regular substitute hygienist throughout 2013, but officially joined the team in January 2014 after the birth of her daughter. Ashley graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2009 from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Her favorite aspect of being part of the Cherry Bay Dental team is that she is part of a friendly and compassionate dental family. Her biggest contributions to the practice are bettering her skills through continuing education and seeking out new dental products that can help improve her patients’ oral health. Originally from South Haven, the Traverse City area was a natural transition for Ashley and her husband as she has always lived on or near the water. When away from the office, Ashley loves to stay active kayaking, boating, working on projects around her house, taking small road trips, and spending time with her family.

Jamie Slater

Jamie Slater

Jamie joined our dental team in January 2015, bringing with her a personable touch and warm smile. Jamie was a Dean’s List student at Northwestern Michigan College while earning her Associates Degree, and became a Registered Dental Assistant in 2013. She loves that her patients receive great care at Cherry Bay Dental, and especially loves watching them walk out with a smile on their face.

Outside of practice life, Jamie enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. An avid outdoors enthusiast, Jamie loves anything sports-related, whether it is biking, running, swimming, hiking, or shooting hoops with her family.

Jenni Jacobson

Jenni Jacobson

Registered Dental Assistant

Jenni first showed her face at Cherry Bay Dental as an intern in the summer of 2015 through Northwestern Michigan College’s Registered Dental Assistant program. Her hard work ethic and attention to detail seemed to be a great fit for the Cherry Bay Dental team, and soon after her graduation, Dr. Pfefferle asked her to stay on as a permanent team member. Since then, Jenni has helped the dental practice grow by assisting wherever she is needed, be it with patients or at the front desk. She especially loves the intimate environment and family atmosphere that Cherry Bay Dental exhibits.

Jenni grew up in Traverse City on a small family farm raising dairy and beef cattle. In her youth, she was very active in 4-H and continues to participate in the program. She spent two years in California with her husband (who served in the Marines for five years) and son before returning to the Traverse City area. In her free time, Jenni enjoys hiking, fishing, and spending time with her family and her Australian cattle dog.
